The miracle you write about was the most beautiful thing that has ever happened in any game, to me (not saying much, granted). I told my husband that this game was ultimately optimistic and life-affirming, and he was surprised—it's odd, but I hadn't realized until reading what you wrote that my view of the game reflected what I brought to it. Erin Fenton told me her read of the game was "systems will let you down, but people are better than you'd think." I think that's true too. I loved what you wrote about your son. My hope for his generation's future is real. Something beautiful is going to happen.

Thank you! I saw an interview with Helen Hindpere (she's one of the game's writers, and I think she's credited as the lead writer for the Final Cut of the game) and she mentioned how when she got to hear the voice acting for the miracle conversation, she was overcome with emotion. Obviously she was trying to praise the voice acting and the direction there rather than her own writing, but I think it speaks to just how powerful that scene is and how much it gets at what the game is about. I really can't stop thinking about it. I do think the game is about people and community over systems, as well!
